One
of my duties on 'Mary Shelly's Frankenstein' was to re-create
the Robert De Niro make-up on an acting double. The make-up
was designed to be as accurate as possible and was as
technically complex as De Niro's (every hair was hand
punched into the headpiece). The make-up was required
due to the sheer bulk of shooting work on the creature
and was used for all sorts of shots that didn't require
close-up dialogue. There was also a stunt make-up.
